The Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County will hold auditions for the musical comedy, "Promises, Promises," on Sunday and Monday, Dec. 4 and 5 at the Little Theatre.

"Promises, Promises" is based on the 1960 Oscar-winning film, "The Apartment," and was nominated for four Tony Awards. It is a comedy featuring a book by Broadway legend Neil Simon with songs by Burt Bacharach and Hal David including "I’ll Never Fall in Love Again," "I Say a Little Prayer" and "A House Is Not a Home."

The show tells the story of a lovelorn junior executive at an insurance company who seeks to climb the corporate ladder by allowing his apartment to be used by the executive staff.

The show is being directed and choreographed by Bart Herman with music direction by Zac Rusk. The assistant director for the production will be Jay Cochran.

Herman is looking to cast between 11-15 women and 15-17 men age 16 and up. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition. The show does deal with some mature situations.

Auditions will be held Sunday, Dec. 4 and Monday, Dec. 5 from 6-9:30 p.m. with a possible call back on Tuesday, Dec. 6. All auditioners must prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show. Auditioners may want to sing a '60s pop song. An accompanist will be provided, or auditioners may bring accompaniment tracks. There are many dance numbers in this show, and anyone auditioning for an ensemble role should come prepared to dance.

Rehearsals will begin in December and will run until the show opens in February. Bring all scheduling conflicts to the auditions. Production dates are Feb. 17-19 and 24-26 and March 3-5. Email Herman at hermanb265@gmail.com.

The Little Theatre production of "Promises, Promises" is being sponsored by Levco Striping Services.
